Ruben Simeo(trumpet)

Born in Spain in 1992, Ruben Simeo Gijon began studying trumpet by the influence of his own father who is a trumpet player and music teacher. Simeo has made great progress at astonishing pace to master many of the most difficult pieces for trumpet. At the age of 10, he had a chance to perform as a soloist with an orchestra and his virtuosity widely drew public attention. He appeared on the most popular Spanish TV program on classical music, which had him leap to nationwide fame as a child genius.
After that, in 2005, Simeo won the second prize at the 6th International Philip Jones Competition at a mere 12 years of age, and won another second prize at the Maurice Andre Competition in 2006. The great trumpeter Maurice Andre highly appreciated Simeo's talent, stated as below in 2007. "I have worked with many trumpeters around the world. However, about a year ago I found a young 14 year old Spaniard that possesses all the qualities to become the best trumpet player in the world! I made an exception and have accepted him as my student, preparing him to be my successor".
Simeo currently resides in Valencia, Spain, and plays on "FIDES" trumpet, studying under Maurice Andre as only a few selected pupils of his.
